Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson, and Thomas Allison Lennox were her parents. Lennox was accepted to the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70s, where she learned the flute piano and harpsichord for three years. She was able to survive on a student stipend and did part-time jobs in order to make ends meet. Lennox was able to make a change in her career path following her dissatisfaction with her inexperience and lack of talent comparison with the other Royal Academy students. Lennox was a flute player in a band named Dragons Playground in 1976. The group broke up shortly before their appearance on I.T.V's talent program New Faces. The singer was the primary voice in The Tourists a British pop group from 1977 until 1980. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later create Eurythmics. After that, Lennox started working on her solo first album Diva which came out in 1992. It was a huge success both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album debuted in October 2014. The C.D. Lennox compiled her top blues and soul from the time of her childhood. Additionally, in May 2019, Lennox released Lepidoptera which is a compilation of four improvised piano tracks. The E.P. is a companion piece of her artwork in the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art titled Now I Let You go... It's also her first independently released album.
