Maureen FitzSimons's achievements when she was a teenager in America (which we call Maureen O'Hara today) would have definitely put her into the child-prodigy class. A child of Irish heritage, and surrounded as her by talented parents, and her family was naturally gifted, it came as a natural. Maureen arrived in this nurturing haven, August 17, 1920. Her family was her parents and family members. Marguerita FitzSimons' mom, Lilburn, was an contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin business, and owned shares in the Irish soccer team Shamrock Rovers. Maureen was the second child of six FitzSimons children. Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen excelled as a sportswoman and participated in rough, competitive games when she was young. Furthermore her talent, she also had a knack for acting. It was evident that she was the winner of every Feis in drama and theatre that Ireland had to offer. At age 14, she had been accepted into the Abbey Theater, where her goal was to study operatic singing and classical theater.
